*Observations: This late '60s beauty has been around the block a few times but still has plenty of songs left in it. There is a lot of play wear on all the surfaces---scratches, scuffs, nicks and small dings, as well as a lot of long finish checking. The headstock was cracked diagonally but has been repaired and appears rock-solid. There is also what may be a small 3 1/2" long crack beginning in the lower bout of the back, but the top appears to be crack-free.
The original bridge, which would have sported an adjustable-height saddle (hence the "ADJ" in J-50ADJ) has been replaced with one that has a drop-in bone saddle. The work was nicely done and this is a mod that definitely is beneficial from a tone standpoint. The nut looks like a replacement as well. Lastly, the endpin is missing and there is a decent-sized ding near the endpin hole. Tuners are original and although a little stiff, they function well. The frets are in great condition. A vintage chipboard case in decent shape is included.
This guitar has Gibson's narrow late '60s neck shape and playability is very good. If you love, the big, woody jangle these guitars are famous for, you will have a blast strumming away on this classic instrument for years to come.
