*Observations: This USA-made Epiphone Texan was built in Kalamzoo in 1970 and is in very good shape, especially for a guitar that was made well over 50 years ago. It has an extensive network of large finish checks on all its surfaces, as well as lots of scratches and small dents and dings all over from years of playing. It sports a replacement bridge with a drop-in bone saddle, as well as a replacement bone nut. The tuners are original and while they are a bit stiff, they are functional. There is a very small finish chip on the side of the fingerboard by the bass side body joint. The frets have some light wear but overall look great.
A K&K Mini pickup with an endpin jack and a soundhole-mounted volume knob has been professionally installed, and playability is good, with medium action. Most importantly, it sounds fantastic, delivering the big, woody jangly strummed tones that these guitars are famous for.
