*Observations: From the early days of Leo Fender's G&L company comes this transparent green beauty. Condition is very good overall for a 44 year-old instrument. There are a lot of scratches, dents and dings from years of playing, as well as a small spot of worn off paint next to the pickup. There are a also few small finish chips on the body and some light finish checking. The headstock has two small discolored spots, likely from a lit cigarette. There is life in the frets, but there is fairly significant wear, particularly on the lower area of the neck. Playability is still good, with comfortable action, and although there is a little string buzz in the middle of the neck, it plays cleanly with light to moderate touch. Currently it is strung with flat wounds and the original hard shell case is included.
The strap buttons have been replaced with '80s era Dunlop strap lock buttons, but all of the other hardware and electronics are original and in great working order. The neck is dated April 22 1981 and the body has an April 1 1981 stamp, so this one is from only the second year of G&L production and it is a great-sounding example of this fascinating era of Leo Fender's amazing legacy of innovation.
