*Observations: This is a beautiful PRS guitar from 1989, only the fourth year of official production. It is in very good condition overall. There are pick scratches and small nicks and dings here and there on all the surfaces, with two slightly larger finish dings, one on the top near the control knobs and one on the back of the neck between the 1st and 2nd frets. The screws and hardware show a little corrosion, but everything is fully functional. There is a little light fret wear in the "cowboy chord " area, but the frets look great overall, especially for a 36 year old guitar. Currently it is set up with the tremolo "decked" against the top, and playability is great.
The pickups and electronics are all original. In '89, PRS guitars featured a volume knob, a 5-position rotary knob for pickup selection, and a "Sweet Switch" that introduces a little capacitance to make the tone slightly darker and more nasal. This sounds great when running through an overdriven amp. The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is lovely and the maple top has a gorgeous diagonal striping pattern.
This is a fantastic chance to own an incredibly cool piece of history from the early days of one of America's most important guitar makers.
