*Observations: The Night Hawk is one of Gibson's most unique guitars, with its versatile pickup configuration and an unusual combination of features---3 pickups, 25 1/2" scale and more.
This guitar has a great deal of play wear on all of its surfaces in the form of pick scratches and small dings and dents. There are some small finish chips along its edges and the nitro lacquer finish has dulled and gummed up a bit in spots, losing some of its glossiness. There is a good amount of fairly deep buckle rash on the back, and the gold hardware and pickup covers have dulled and tarnished a bit. The original pink-lined hard shell case is included and while it is in fair cosmetic condition, it is fully functional.
Despite the fact that this guitar has seen a lot of action over the years, the frets are in very good shape with only very minor wear and no dents or grooves. It's extremely light-weight, playability is excellent and the electronics are in good working order and sound great. With its unique humbucker/single coil/mini humbucker layout there are a lot of cool and interesting sounds to be had, making this one a real sleeper from a very well-regarded era of Gibson's history!
