*Observations: This is a very well-made carbon-fiber acoustic guitar with an interesting design that plays well, sounds nice and is in cosmetically very good condition, but with a non-functioning pickup system.
The D-Tar pickup system has a preamp that runs on 2 AA batteries, but the AAs that were in the guitar have leaked acid, corroding the metal points inside to such an extent that they are lodged inside and cannot be removed. It's possible that this could be repaired if the preamp could be accessed, but the design of the guitar itself prevents any easy way to get at it. Accordingly, we have priced it at a figure significantly below market value.
Although the electronics are non-functional, this Rider is still very capable as an acoustic instrument. With fully functional electronics we'd be listing the condition as "very good". It has a lot of play wear on the top and pickguard in the form of pick scratches and there a few dings in the finish on the top but there is only minimal fret wear. There is some peeling of the finish directly behind the bridge. The B-string bridge pin is missing but the string sits securely in the bridge plate without it.
As stated earlier, despite the non-working electronics, everything else here is rock-solid. The Rider sports impressive design, satisfying sound, good playability and rugged carbon fiber construction that is practically impervious to changes in climate. The original gig bag is included.
