The cabinet and speaker choice is as important as any other part of the signal chain. Depending on your guitar, pickups, pedals, amps and especially your playing style, you have to find the right cabinet/speaker combination that fits.
A harsh sound can be smoothed out with a more round sounding cabinet. If you have the feeling that your sound works on it’s own, but disappears in the context of the band, a more focused cabinet can make all the difference.
