*Observations: Gibson Historic '57 Reissue Les Pauls, commonly known as R7's, are always a treat to play. They have all the thickness, punch and warmth that you'd want from a classic Les Paul, with a chunky 50s style neck that feels great in your hand. This one has a good amount of playing wear---scuffs, scratches and small dings over most of the instrument, along with a good amount of medium-sized dents and buckle rash on the back, where there is also a very small finish chip. There are also a few finish chips on the top edge of the headstock and a small finish crack on the headstock's treble side edge. There are some long finish checking lines in the area around the volume and tone knobs.
The nickel plating on the bridge, tailpiece and pickup covers has oxidized extensively into a dull, rough texture that does not polish out but does have a cool, vintage vibe. The frets have a bit of wear, with a few small dents forming in the "cowboy chord" positions but playability is very good and the electronics, which are original, sound great. There is no COA but the original hard shell case is included.
Cosmetically, this one may be in the "player grade" category, but everything is structurally sound and in great working order and it is most definitely a fun guitar to play.
