*Observations: Few guitars are capable of making the hearts of even the most jaded guitar shop denizens go pitter-patter quite like a Gibson L-5 and this stunner, built in 2008 in tribute to the great Wes Montgomery, is no exception.
Condition here is overall very good. There is light playing wear on the pickguard and some light scuffing and scratching on the top, as well as a tiny dimple-like dent. On the back, there is a concentration of small, light scratches on the bass edge, most likely from shirt button contact, along with a little light finish clouding in that area. There is also a small 1 1/2" stretch of slight finish bubbling on the back along the binding edge near the neck heel. The gold hardware mostly looks great, though there is a little fading and tarnish on the tailpiece (see photos).
Playability is excellent and the tone is glorious. Acoustically it has a loud, clear, pleasingly chunky "thunk" and amplified, this guitar possesses amazing depth, warmth, and...mystery. This is a fabulous instrument.
