Description

*This is a used amplifier and speaker cab in very good condition
*This is a consignment item
*Includes a cover for the head

*Observations: Overall the condition of this amp is mostly clean. There are a a few small, faint white marks on the head and cab, and the cab has a few small dings along the bottom edge of the front panel. The head also has a small tolex tear on the upper left hand corner of the front panel, but aside from these marks, it looks great.

And the tone is sensational. It's very big-sounding, with a surprising amount of punch and headroom for an amp rated at 18 watts. It really does very much sound like an old classic Hiwatt, but at volume levels more friendly to modern playing situations.

CUSTOM LOWATT

The LOWATT is a careful reproduction of the amps made by Dave Reeves in the early 1970s. The tone stack is unique and different than the “FMV” controls found on most amplifiers, and has significantly more tonal range. These are relatively low gain amps with plenty of punch and headroom, and are great with pedals.

The classic 1971-1974 “DR”

  • Based on Dave Reeves’ Classic Circuitry
  • Custom Partridge clone transformers built exclusively for HI-TONE Amplification by Heyboer Transformers
  • Internally linked input based on a discovery by Pete Cornish that linking two channels created a more balanced sound for a certain “comfortably numb” guitar hero
  • built with premium SOZO signal capacitors
