This is a copy of the original Danelectro electric SITAR, originally inspired by Vincent Bell, and built with love and incredible attention to detail by Nashville luthier Jerry Jones. The original instrument was created to make an instrument which sounds cool but is very difficult to play (the sitar) accessible to anyone who can strum a guitar. Relying on its innovative "buzz"-bridge, this guitar delivers convincing sitar tone in an easy to play format, complete with a seperate 13-string section for sympathetic strums.

If you are a fan of psychadelic-era hooks by the likes of George Harrison and Brian Jones (think "Paint It Black") you need this guitar for your arsenal. The seperate 13-string sympathetic section has its own volume and tone controls, and can be tuned anyway you like, or simply muted by turning it down. This particular guitar is from the latest era of electric SITARs which is why it has printing on the pickguard and lacks pickup rings around the lipstick pickups.
