*Observations: This is a rare bird indeed, a Stromberg-Voisinet (renamed Kay Musical Instruments in 1931) KeyKord baritone uke/mini tenor guitar from the late 1920s. This instrument sports a weird but ingenious device that frets chords on the fingerboard for you with an array of push buttons while you strum away, much in the manner of an autoharp. This one is in extremely good cosmetic condition for an instrument that's nearly 100 years old now. It has plenty of scratches (including a long, deep one on the top), scrapes and small dings but structurally it is very sound, with only one 2 1/2" long crack on the rear side of the guitar near the tailpiece.

The third and fourth string tuning heads are slipping badly and will need to be worked on or replaced in order to get this thing in tune, but once that's sorted out, it should be good to go because miraculously, the typewriter-like KeyKord mechanism seems to be in good working order. The original chipboard case is included and it is in great shape for its age as well. This a very cool and hard to find little slice of guitar design history!
