*This is a used guitar in good condition
*This is a consignment item
*Includes vintage chipboard case
*Observations: Built by Kay for sale under the Silvertone name in the mid '60s, this modest archtop is in good condition for its age and considering how much action it seems to have seen. There is a lot of play wear and a lot of assorted bites, bumps and dings on all its surfaces, along with a few larger dings, most notably gouges on the back of the neck and on the neck heel. However, there are no cracks on the top, back or sides. The frets are original but are very worn down and have some oxidation on them, and the nut is chipped in a few spots but functional. There are some cracks in the body binding, and the binding has pulled away slightly from the body in a couple of spots on the top and back, exposing small gaps. The bridge has some oxidation on the hardware but it is fully functional. The tuners have been replaced and all of them are fully functional with exception of the "D" string tuner, which tunes up but is extremely stiff and difficult to turn. An aftermarket floating pickup was added to the pickguard many years ago, but since its output jack utilizes a 1/8" connector we were unable to plug it in and test it. The action is a little high up the neck but it is very playable in the "cowboy" chord region. A vintage chipboard case is included and while it is in slightly rough condition cosmetically, it is in good working order.
