This StringBender guitar (#009) features a Parsons/White B-Bender system installed by Gene Parsons, inventor of the B-Bender. Only 10 StringBender Custom Shop guitars with Parsons/White StringBenders installed have been made. It features a body made of old growth reclaimed redwood, which is light and very resonant, a Honduran Mahogany neck, Indian Rosewood fretboard, abalone dot markers, abalone/MOP Gene Parsons logo, and Dawgtown pickups handwound by John Galep in Wisconsin.
Gene is intimately involved in the design and construction of StringBender guitars and installs all of his patented StringBenders. Gene invented the StringBender for his friend and bandmate Clarence White back in the late '60's and has installed them in Fender Telecasters and other guitars for 50 years. He still does a limited number of installs in other people's guitars.
There is light play wear on the top in the form of light scuffs and scratches and a few very tiny dimple-like dents here and there. The back has a few longer scratches and a few deeper dents but no buckle rash. There are also a few small dings on the back of the guitar near the output jack. There is almost no fret wear.
The Parsons/White bender works flawlessly, as do the electronics, and the playability and tone are excellent!
