*This is a used amplifier in very good condition
*This is a consignment item
*Observations: Built during the revered Mark Bartel era of Tone King, this is a cool-sounding amp that packs a lot of classic sounds into a small package.
There is a small nick in the tolex near the top of the amp's backside and two small white marks near the bottom of the backside. A few of the surrounds on the screws securing the back panel look like they've been replaced with non-matching ones. Despite these cosmetic factors, overall the condition is very clean.
A note about the controls here. One of the key components is the front panel's 3-position voicing switch. All three positions work flawlessly, but if you turn past the third one, there are a few unmarked "positions" that produce only a thin, low volume tone. We asked Mark Bartel about this and sent him pictures of the circuit layout and he explained that the switch he used in these amps was a 7 position switch that was modified by its maufacturer to "stop" after 3 steps. However, the stops on many of these switches have failed, so although the 3 main selections work perfectly, you end up a few positions after those that essentially do nothing. It does not in any way interfere with normal operation of the amp, which is in great working order and sounds fantastic.
