The DG-1 was the first pedal in the TopTone line. It is the result of many years of research in the field of pedal modifications. It has a well-defined and full-bodied distortion with a circuit based on the Big Muff, one of the first classic transistorized effects pedals of the 70s, overcoming some limitations of the traditional ones of the time. Modifications to this pedal resemble those made to the Big Muff by Pete Cornish for David Gilmour. The tone control has been modified to allow better exploration of the mids.
With the improved tone control there is no unusable setting and the sustain control is very comprehensive. It goes from a slight overdrive to a high gain, perfect for classic, modern and heavy sounds with a great use of harmonics. The tone and sustain controls are also very interactive, adjusting one alters the characteristics of the other giving a wide range of tonal possibilities.
