*Observations: This ultra-cool "player-grade" ES-335 has a lot of miles on it but tons of personality and character, for sure! There are lots of scratches, scuffs and dings all over the guitar from years of serious playing but no missing finish. There is particularly heavy scratching between the pickup selector switch and the knobs, and of course on the pickguard as well. Overall the Ebony nitro finish has maintained its glossiness, but there is one 2-inch wide area on the bass side of the guitar where the finish has either bubbled up or been roughly touched up at some point. There is also a lot of finish checking everywhere, both long and short lines.
The beautiful rosewood fingerboard has some wear from years of playing, and the frets show a good amount of wear and a few dents in the low frets, so a fret level or refret could be in order fairly soon. However, playability is good as is for now. The nut looks like it may have been replaced with one made of Tusq or Micarta.
There is a little scratchiness in the pots, particularly the bridge pickup tone pot, but after a little spraying out, they are all still very usable. The selector switch works perfectly. The pickups sound warm and full, possessing both bite and smooth clarity. The nickel pickup covers, hardware and tuners sport the kind of heavily worn-in patina that no relic job can fully duplicate.

This is a well-loved guitar that has seen a lot of use, but not abuse. It is structurally solid, sounds terrific and is ready for many more years of action!
