*Observations: This beautiful 1990s recreation of one of Gibson's most famous models is in very good condition. The top and sides have swirling and sctratches and numerous small dents from a lot of playing action, and there is a good amount of buckle rash on the back that gets fairly deep in spots, particularly on the bass side, but no finish is missing. There is a pinup girl decal on the top near the tone controls and a circular area of finish bubbling about 3/4" in diameter between the bridge and tailpiece where the original Bigsby tailpiece's spring pad was located. There are also some finish marks around the bridge that were most likely caused by the floating bridge being allowed to slide back and forth during restringing.
The front of the headstock has a lot of scratches, along with a few nicks along the edges, including a little finish cracking between the nut and the low E string's tuner. There are a couple of dings on the back of the headstock as well, most notably a fingernail-size finish dent and a few small finish cracks around the tuners. There are two small white spots in the finish on the back of the neck near the heel, and the heel itself has a 1 1/2" dark line in the finish that appears to be in the finish itself rather than a crack. There is a half-inch finish crack coming off the input jack and a quarter-inch finish dent nearby as well.
The frets have quite a bit of wear. There are no deep grooves but there are some significantly flattened spots, so a fret dressing or a refret may be necessary for maximized intonation. Playability is still very good. The electronics work perefectly, with no scratchiness. The tailpiece has been switched out with a Gibson "zig zag" unit but the guitar's original Bigsby vibrato tailpiece is included.
Overall, despite its cosmetic issues and fret wear, this guitar plays and sounds fantastic and has all the classic tones and vibe that this celebrated model is famous for!
