The X50 took its inspiration from the early Vox AC50 2-Channel Amp Head. This is hand-built, point to point soldered, and contains no off-the-shelf parts. Channel One is based on the "Brilliant" Channel with some minor modifications for increase touch sensitivity, alignment of frequencies and lower noise levels. Channel Two comes from the same family as Channel One, but where it differs is in the layering of harmonics and amount of gain available as the volume is increased. Channel Two is very sensitive and dynamic.
